Usage Limits
Understand and manage your monthly photo limits and overage charges.
Overview
Each subscription plan includes:
- Monthly photo allowance (or lifetime for free plan)
- Usage tracking per billing cycle
- Overage handling options
- Usage notifications
Free Plan Differences
The Developer Free Plan works differently: it provides a lifetime quota of 100 photos (not monthly) and does not support email features. Learn more about free plan limitations.
Monthly Photo Limit
How It Works
Your plan includes a set number of photos per month. Limits vary by plan — see current pricing for details.
Billing Cycle
Photo limits reset on your subscription renewal date, not the calendar month.
Counting Photos
Each photo submitted counts toward your limit:
- One-time request photos
- Permanent Link submissions
- All photo slots

Overage Handling
Two Options
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Block uploads | Photos blocked when limit reached |
| Allow overage | Extra photos charged per unit |
Configuring Overage
- Go to Settings → General
- Find Usage Limits section
- Toggle Block photo uploads when limit is reached
- Save changes
Overage Pricing
When overage is allowed:
- Additional photos charged at overage rate
- Rate depends on your plan
- Charged at end of billing cycle
Overage Billing
Monthly Invoicing
Overage charges are billed monthly, regardless of whether you have a monthly, annual, or lifetime plan.
Minimum threshold: We only invoice when your overage amount reaches €10 or more. Smaller amounts accumulate until they reach this threshold.
Example: If your overage in January is €7, you won't receive an invoice. If February adds €5 more, you'll be invoiced €12 (€7 + €5) at the end of February.
Usage Notifications

FAQ
What happens when I hit the limit?
If blocking is enabled:
- New photo uploads are rejected
- Existing photos remain accessible
- Customers see an error message
If overage is enabled:
- Photos continue uploading
- Extra charges apply
- No interruption to service
Do unused photos roll over?
No, unused photos do not roll over to the next billing cycle. Each period resets to your plan's full allowance.
Can I see who uploaded photos?
Yes, each submission shows:
- Submission date/time
- Photo count
- Source (request type)
How are overage charges calculated?
Overage charges are:
- Calculated per photo over limit
- Based on your plan's overage rate
- Invoiced monthly (even for annual/lifetime plans)
- Only charged when total reaches €10 or more
Free Plan Limitations
The Developer Free Plan is designed for testing and evaluation purposes. It has specific restrictions that differ from paid plans.
Lifetime Photo Quota
Unlike paid plans with monthly allocations:
- 100 photos total (lifetime limit, not per month)
- Counter never resets
- No monthly billing cycles
- Usage tracked from account creation
Quota Tracking
View your lifetime usage in the Dashboard widget. The usage object in API responses includes is_lifetime_quota: true for free plan users.
Email Features Disabled
Free plan users cannot send photo requests via email:
| Feature | Free Plan | Starter+ Plans |
|---|---|---|
| Email photo requests | ❌ Not available | ✅ Available |
recipient_email API parameter | ❌ Prohibited (422 error) | ✅ Allowed |
send_email API parameter | ❌ Prohibited (422 error) | ✅ Allowed |
API Error Response:
{
"message": "The recipient email field is prohibited.",
"errors": {
"recipient_email": [
"Email features are not available on the free plan. Upgrade to send photo requests via email."
]
}
}Workaround: Share the request_url from API responses manually (via SMS, chat, messaging apps, etc.).

"photos_included": 100,

To unlock email features and monthly quotas:
