Set up a branded subdomain for your photo request links.

Overview

Custom domains allow you to:

  • Use your brand in URLs
  • Build professional appearance
  • Increase customer trust
  • Maintain brand consistency

Professional Plan Required

Custom subdomains require a Professional or Enterprise plan.

How It Works

Default URLs

Without a custom domain:

https://visio.now/abc123

With Custom Subdomain

With your subdomain:

https://yourcompany.visio.now/abc123

Setting Up Your Subdomain

Requirements

Before you begin:

  • Professional or Enterprise plan
  • Unique subdomain name
  • 3-20 characters
  • Lowercase letters and numbers only

Creating Your Subdomain

  1. Go to SettingsDomain tab
  2. Enter your desired subdomain
  3. Preview the full URL
  4. Click Create Subdomain
  5. Wait for activation

Activation Time

  • Usually instant
  • Maximum 5 minutes
  • Automatic DNS configuration

Subdomain Rules

Character Requirements

Managing Your Subdomain

View Current Subdomain

In SettingsDomain:

  • Active subdomain displayed
  • Full URL shown
  • Status indicator (active/pending)

Changing Subdomain

Cannot Self-Change

Once created, subdomains cannot be changed through the dashboard. Contact support for subdomain changes.

Reasons for this restriction:

  • Existing links would break
  • SEO impact
  • Customer confusion

Subdomain Transfer

If you need to change:

  1. Contact support
  2. Explain the reason
  3. Plan for transition
  4. Update all shared links

With subdomain:

One-time Request URLs

With subdomain:

Choosing a Subdomain

  1. Use your brand name - Company name or abbreviation
  2. Keep it short - Easy to type and remember
  3. Avoid numbers - Unless part of brand
  4. Think long-term - Hard to change later

Before Creating

  • Verify spelling carefully
  • Consider future branding
  • Check if available
  • Plan for marketing materials

After Creating

  • Update marketing materials
  • Inform team members
  • Test all link types
  • Document for reference

Integration Considerations

Printed Materials

If using subdomain on:

  • Business cards
  • Flyers
  • QR codes

Ensure subdomain is final before printing.

API Integration

API endpoints remain unchanged:

Webhooks

Webhook URLs not affected by subdomain.

Troubleshooting

Subdomain Not Working

  1. Wait 5 minutes for activation
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Try incognito/private mode
  4. Verify subdomain is active in settings

Cannot Create Subdomain

Possible reasons:

  • Plan doesn't support subdomains
  • Subdomain already taken
  • Invalid characters used
  • Too short or too long
  • New requests use subdomain automatically
  • Existing requests keep original URLs
  • Permanent Links update automatically

FAQ

Can I use my own domain?

Currently, only subdomains of visio.now are supported. Full custom domain support may be available in future.

Old links continue to work. The original URL format remains valid.

Can I have multiple subdomains?

Each workspace has one subdomain. Multiple workspaces can have different subdomains.
